Today (November 20), the second phase of voting is going on in Jharkhand, while all 288 constituencies of Maharashtra are voting in a single phase.

There will be a dry day in Mumbai and other cities of the state on the election day. According to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the results of the exit poll can be released only after the voting is over in the entire state. Pollsters and media houses can broadcast these predictions for both Maharashtra and Jharkhand from 6.30 pm on November 20.
Exit poll not published until half an hour after voting ends
This ensures that voters will not be influenced by exit poll predictions before voting. Releasing these surveys prematurely could influence undecided voters, which could unduly influence the outcome of the election. Counting of votes will take place on 23 November. According to Section 126A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, exit polls cannot be published until half an hour after the end of voting.
